Tip
Do
you know how to quickly and easily calculate the minimum and maximum of a salary
range of any width based on a specific midpoint? Multiply the midpoint by 2, then
divide by 2 + the percentage as a decimal -- and that's the minimum! For example,
if the midpoint is $100,000 and you want a 60% wide range, the calculation is:
..........$200,000/2.6 = $76,923.
The maximum
would then be $123,077 and sure enough, the total width is 60%!
